Whispering system / PFA
Wireless guidance systems – also called PFA (= Person-FGuide-Anlage) are first of all mainly needed for guided tours at trade fairs, in museums, for city tours and in factory halls to ensure a perfect connection of the speakers to the group.
However, they can be used in a pinch (e.g. due to lack of space for a Interpreting booth) can also be used as so-called whisper interpreting systems. Due to the more difficult working conditions for the Whispered interpreters However, the use here is limited in time.
The equipment consists of the following components and variations:
Microphones
- Handheld microphone or handheld transmitter called
- Lapel microphone with pocket transmitter
Receiver
- Pocket receiver with headphones or single earphone
- Pocket receiver with hard of hearing loop
- Chin bar receiver
In this context, the latter chinstrap receiver is particularly suitable in cases where helmets are required and/or where there is very loud ambient noise (e.g. production noise).
Whispering systems now offer many channels for simultaneous transmission. This allows several groups to be conducted at the same time or, in the case of interpreting, several foreign languages to be transmitted simultaneously.
The guidance systems are small and handy, stowed in suitcases and easy to transport, and can be rented in Germany or purchased for recurring use.
