Auracast: Future-proof audio transmission for events, guided tours & barrier-free events
The new Bluetooth standard for events, tour guides & simultaneous interpreting

What is Auracast?
Auracast is the new standard for wireless audio transmission based on Bluetooth Low Energy (LE Audio). In contrast to classic Bluetooth, where each receiving device has to be paired individually, Auracast transmits an audio stream simultaneously to any number of compatible devices – without any pairing process. This makes Auracast particularly attractive for use at events, guided tours and multilingual events.
Advantages of Auracast for events and functions
- Unlimited number of recipients: A – transmitter, e.g. a – microphone or audio interface, transmits audio to any number of listeners with compatible devices (smartphones, headphones, hearing aids).
- Low latency: Thanks to LE Audio and optimized codec (e.g. Opus), speech and music transmissions are transmitted almost without delay and synchronously – is ideal for live events and simultaneous interpreting.
- No pairing necessary: Participants simply select the desired audio channel at the touch of a button, QR code or app from – quickly, intuitively and without any technical hurdles.
- Multi-channel capability: Multilingual events or parallel guided tours are possible without any problems, as several audio channels can be broadcast simultaneously.
- BYOD & professional devices: Auracast supports both professional receivers and the use of private devices (Bring Your Own Device), such as smartphones or modern hearing aids.
- Accessibility: Direct transmission to hearing aids or headphones improves intelligibility for people with hearing impairments and makes events more inclusive.
- Energy efficiency: LE Audio consumes significantly less power than classic Bluetooth transmissions – ideal for mobile use.
Typical areas of application for Auracast systems
- Tour guides & museum tours: A guide broadcasts live to all – participants, who listen via their own or provided devices, even in noisy environments.
- Simultaneous interpreting: Participants select their language channel and receive the translation directly on their own device – ideal for international conferences and trade fairs.
- Conferences & congresses: Several audio channels (e.g. different lectures or languages) can be offered in parallel.
- Barrier-free events: Hearing-impaired visitors receive the sound directly on compatible hearing aids.
- Flexible use: From professional hardware to BYOD – Auracast works with modern headphones, wearables and smartphones alike.
How do I select my audio channel?
- Via app, QR code or NFC tag – quickly and without prior technical knowledge
Which devices are compatible with Auracast?
- All devices with Bluetooth 5.4 LE Audio and Auracast support – many new smartphones, headphones and hearing aids.
How secure is the transmission with Auracast?
- Auracast offers modern encryption and protects against unauthorized access.
How many participants are possible?
- The number of receivers is theoretically unlimited – ideal for large events. If you have a very large number of receivers, we recommend amplifying the signal with additional transmitters and testing the reception extensively.
