I/O Rack RIO1608DQL1
[column size="1-2″ last="0″]
The Rio1608-D is a Dante compatible I/O rack with 16 analog inputs and 8
analog outputs. Standard Ethernet cables can be used to transfer audio between devices over distances of up to 100 meters, with extremely low latency and jitter. The Rio can be used as a versatile I/O box for the Dante network. Supported sampling rates are 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz.
By connecting the Rio with a standard Ethernet cable to a computer with
installed Dante Virtual Soundcard, you can input/output audio signals directly without using an audio interface.
Features:
- 16 inputs and 8 outputs
- Sampling rates: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz
- Compact design: 3 height units
- Up to 100 meters transmission via DANTE
- Lowest latencies
- Can be used as audio interface via Ethernet

Dante information
Dante is a network protocol for the transmission of audio signals. It was developed by Audionate and is becoming more and more the standard for professional transmission of audio signals over longer distances.
It is designed to provide multi-channel audio signals over a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) network with various
transmit sampling and bit rates as well as control signals for interconnected devices.
Dante also offers the following benefits:
[column size="1-2″ last="0″]
- It transmits (theoretically) up to 512 inputs and 512 outputs, i.e. a total of 1024 channels of audio signals over a GbE network. (The Rio3224-D provides 32 inputs and 24 outputs with 24/32 bit resolution. The Rio1608-D provides 16 inputs and 8 outputs with 24/32 bit resolution).
- Dante-equipped devices automatically configure their network interfaces and find each other on the network. You can give Dante devices and their audio channels names that you understand.
- Dante uses highly accurate network synchronization standards to achieve sample-accurate playback with extremely low latency and jitter. Four latency options are available for Rio: 0.25 ms, 0.5 ms, 1.0 ms, and 5.0 ms
[/column]
[column size="1-2″ last="1″]
- Dante supports redundant connections across primary and secondary circuits to address unforeseen difficulties
- By connecting a Dante-equipped device to a computer via Ethernet, you can input and output audio directly without any audio interface devices (interfaces). By taking advantage of all this, you can skip any complicated procedures for automating connections, whether it's for setting up Dante-equipped devices, remotely controlling I/O racks or amplifiers from a mixer, or
for setup for multitrack recording on a DAW like Nuendo, installed on a computer on the network.
