- Interpreters translate for deaf and hearing people
- You must have a good command of DGS, LBG and finger alphabet
- Interpreters are required to keep all information to which they have access confidential
- Interpreters must maintain neutrality
As of 2024, an amendment to the standards for the working conditions of sign language interpreters is being worked on (ISO/AWI 17651-4 standard on signed language interpreters' working environment).
