Conference interpreters
Conference interpreters are usually freelance and, like the meetings industry in general, also know high and low season.
When planning a multilingual event, "consultant interpreters" should be consulted early on. These provide the optimal interpreting team in terms of residency, expertise, type of interpreting (Consecutive- or Simultaneous interpreting), number of colleagues per language or Interpreting booth etc. together. They are considered the main contact for the interpreting team and provide the organizers with many helpful tips to ensure that the meeting is a communicative success.
