Interpreting booth

The interpreting booth is the workplace of the Simultaneous interpreters. The following requirements are set (according to ISO 4043 and ISO 2603):

Good visibility of the meeting room/space, soundproofing design, adequate ventilation, spaciousness, lighting and much more.

The standards for these booths are elementary, as this is the interpreter's workplace. Only if the framework conditions are right can the interpreter concentrate fully on her interpretation.

For congress participants, the focus is more on aesthetics/appearance, because it makes sense for the interpreting booths to stand in the room/hall so that the interpreters can follow what is happening in the best possible way. The booths are therefore usually kept in a discreet mouse gray, but can also (especially when purchasing an interpreting booth) be purchased in other colors or covered with foils (depending on the CI of the company, here a Example).

If placed outside the meeting area, additional cameras and monitors should be planned for the interpreters so that they still have a view of the speaker and audience.
