Microphone chain
A microphone chain is a microphone system in which microphones are connected to each other via a bus system (i.e. a single cable with several wires). The bus system serves as a data, information and supply system. It is managed by a control center.
This supplies the individual microphones with a constant voltage. It manages the individual microphones (release, limitation of the max. number of speakers, etc.) and transmits, in addition to the sound, further information such as microphone on/off, assignment of the microphone, and the like. It is also possible to control a PTZ/dome camera here, so that a camera always pans automatically to the respective speaker. This is extremely important, especially for digital conferences, in order to have all speakers in view from a distance.
